Terms of Service

Effective date: September 30, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Cera app, madewithcera.com, and related services. They form an agreement between you and Minji (Cheri) Kim, doing business as Cera (“Cera,” “we,” or “us”).

By creating an account or using Cera, you agree to these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information in the app and on the website.

If you belong to or manage a studio, the Studio accounts and content section also applies to you.

Who can use Cera

You must be at least 18 years old to use Cera.

You’re responsible for keeping your account secure and providing accurate signup information. Keep your password safe, and contact hello@madewithcera.com if you believe someone else is using your account.

Your content

Ownership and permission

You retain ownership of the content you add to Cera. You give us permission to store, display, and process it as needed to provide and improve Cera, while respecting its visibility settings.

When a public post or profile is shared, this permission includes displaying its public preview on the web and providing link cards to messaging and social apps, as described in our Privacy Policy. Those services may cache link cards, and we cannot recall copies they have already stored or sent.

Saving someone else’s post or adding a reference photo does not give you ownership or rights to that content.

Your private personal content is used to provide the service to you, not displayed to other users. Studio-owned content follows the access rules in Studio accounts and content.

When you save another person’s post, our permission to display it comes from that creator, not from you.

Promotional use

If we’d like to feature your work in Cera’s marketing, we’ll ask for your permission first.

When you delete content

This license ends when the content is deleted through the process described in our Privacy Policy, except for backup copies that remain until they expire. Account deletion includes a 30-day waiting period.

Deleting a post also removes it from other people’s saves.

Your responsibility

You must have the necessary rights or permissions to upload and share content on Cera.

Studio accounts and content

Your personal content stays yours. Joining a studio or tagging it in a post does not transfer ownership of your content to the studio or give its administrators access to your private personal content. The studio-owned content rules apply only to content created or contributed on behalf of the studio.

Studios can own their own studio posts, projects, and drafts on Cera. One or more administrators manage each studio and its contents.

Studio-owned content

The studio grants Cera permission to use its content under the same terms described in Your content.

All studio administrators can view and manage studio-owned content, including private notes and reference photos. They can also see who edited a studio project and when.

When you leave a studio

If you leave a studio or delete your account, studio-owned posts, projects, and drafts remain with the studio.

Clays, glazes, and tags you contributed that were added to a studio’s shelf or the shared catalog also remain.

Administrator responsibilities

Studio administrators are responsible for content posted on behalf of the studio and for deciding who has administrative access.

Administrators can block someone on behalf of the studio, which removes that person’s work from the studio’s showcase.

Community rules

Cera has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You must not:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or discriminate against others, or share hateful content.
  • Share sexually explicit content or anything that exploits or endangers minors.
  • Share graphic violence or encourage self-harm or illegal activity.
  • Post spam, run scams, or impersonate another person, studio, or brand.
  • Share content without the necessary rights or permissions, or disclose someone else’s private information without permission.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or bypass Cera’s security.

You can report posts and profiles and block users within the app.

We review reports promptly. We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We may need to act before notifying you, subject to any notice requirements under applicable law.

Reporting illegal content and contacting us

You can report content you believe is illegal using Report in the app or by emailing hello@madewithcera.com. Include the post or profile link, or enough detail to identify it, explain why you believe it is illegal, and provide any relevant supporting information. For email reports, include your name and contact email and confirm that you believe the information in your report is accurate and complete.

Our contact point for users and authorities is hello@madewithcera.com. You can contact us in English.

When we remove your content or restrict your account, we will email you to explain what action we took, why, and which rule or legal requirement applies, unless the law prevents us from doing so. If you think we made a mistake, you can reply to the email or contact hello@madewithcera.com to ask us to review the decision.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on Cera infringes your copyright, email hello@madewithcera.com with a description of the copyrighted work, a link to or clear identification of the content, and your name and contact details. Include a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law, and that the information you provide is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. Include your electronic signature.

Materials and firing information

Clay, glaze, and firing information on Cera—including catalog information and content shared by users—is provided for inspiration and reference. It may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Always follow manufacturers’ instructions, test materials before use, and follow appropriate kiln and material safety practices.

Cera does not guarantee that any glaze combination or finished piece is food-safe. You are responsible for checking whether your materials and finished work are suitable for their intended use.

Our service

Cera is evolving. Features may change, be paused, or be discontinued.

During beta testing, including through Apple TestFlight or Google Play, features may be unfinished and data may be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Using Cera

Cera is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, operate without errors, or preserve your data without loss. Keep your own copies of important content, especially during beta testing.

Shared information and your decisions

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or safety of information shared on Cera. Making content available does not mean we endorse it.

You are responsible for deciding how to use shared information, testing materials, and following manufacturers’ instructions and appropriate safety practices. Cera does not guarantee firing results or the food safety of any glaze or finished piece.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cera is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, Cera.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for injury, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence where applicable law prohibits such a limitation.

Ending your use of Cera

You can stop using Cera at any time. To request account deletion, go to Settings → Account & Security → Delete account. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information.

We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary for legal or safety reasons.

Apple

If you download Cera from Apple’s App Store, these Terms are between you and Cera, not Apple.

Apple is not responsible for Cera or its content, has no obligation to provide support, and is not responsible for claims relating to the app.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, meaning they may enforce the provisions that apply to them.

You must also comply with the App Store’s terms of use.

Google Play

If you download Cera through Google Play, these Terms are between you and Cera, not Google. Google’s terms also apply to your use of Google Play. Cera, not Google, is responsible for the app and its support under these Terms, subject to applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Cera evolves. If we make a meaningful change, we’ll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.

By continuing to use Cera after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, this choice of law does not take away mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms removes your right to bring a claim in your local courts where applicable law gives you that right.
